European population structure, local adaptation and risk of non-adaptation under future climates

In this project, we want to characterize the European lineage in different ways. We want to describe the sub-populations, barrieres to gene flow, gradient of genetic diversity.

In addition, since multiple population genomics studies suggested a moderate to severe vulnerability of european trees to future climate based on allele frequencies and local adaptation. We want to see if including fungi into this forest adaptation research clears the pictures, corroborates the results or reveal more complex patterns.

In this project we obtained samples from a huge range of latitudes from the European lineage, from Iceland to the Mediterranean.
