Welcome!
My name is Etienne Brejon Lamartinière (he/him), I am a French-American PhD student from Bielefeld University, interested in ecology & evolution and (epi-) genomics. My PhD project focuses on one of the most charismatic edible fungus, the porcino, also known as cèpe de Bordeaux, or king bolete (Boletus edulis). I use and develop bioinformatics and modelling tools in order to elucidate this species’ complex biology and evolutionary history.
Previously, I completed a bachelors in marine biology in La Rochelle University and a master’s in forest conservation in AgroParisTech (Saclay University). They inprinted me with deep interests for both marine and forest ecology. Funny enough, I now find myself studying forest fungi in a lab primarely specialized on marine genomics.
Project after project, I try my best to improve both my computational skills in bash, R, python, markdown, and the reproducibility of my project with github, zenodo, apptainer, conda and snakemake.
